Learning a language is learning a culture. Transmission of culture is by language. Learning another language is a very dangerous thing. It's not simply speaking another language like for like alongside your native language, it's also integrating with another culture.

holy shit dude I was making the argument just now.

only in anglo culture do you get the kill all men and men ain’t shit. the money you make in anglo countries isn’t even all that great especially as we head into a globalized world. It really sucks bc my english is better than my spanish despite being my second language. I much prefer english but the culture and people who speak it really ruins it for me. It really has fueled my drive into learning other languages to try and get away from the filthy anglo culture. But I’m already old and not rich. I feel like I’m stuck with just spanish and I’m nowhere near proficient as in english also Latin America isn’t really a lovely place to live ine other especially when you have the option to live in America. I’ve played around with the idea of France or Italy fuck perhaps Romanian but I really have no guidance.

English hasn’t really done a whole lot for me except send me a down dark path. I thought learning English would increase my wealth and happiness but it hasn’t done shit. Sometimes I feel like I would have been better off as a Spanish monolingual

Its a Germanic language brought to the British 1000 years by the mainland Europeans, mostly Vikings.

Old English would probably be close to incomprehensible to any speaker of modern English. It would be more understood to some extend by Scandinavians.
