Does wearing my retainer prevent any facial development from improved tongue posture and breathing?

Just turned 16, got braces around 14 and have been wearing my retainer for 7 months. I have a long face and an am a bit recessed, but I’ve fixed my breathing problem and am able to breathe though my nose 24/7 and mostly have my tongue at the roof of my mouth. I know my shits mostly all fused but does wearing my retainer make it even harder to have any positive facial changes? Pls lmk
