90 % reduction in dopamine production is really A LOT , its like critically low levels. Even depression does not cause that severe loss of dopamine production.

This is why Parkinsons is mostly common in older people or people who have damaged their brains dopamine production with long years of amphetamine abuse. Aging causes 1 % drop in dopamine production for every year. Much faster drop in dopamine production if amphetamine abuse for byspel (for example).

Introversion is also caused by lower dopamine (although obviously not critically low dopamine like in the case of parkinsons , but more like "lower than average extrovert")

Dopamine is basically EVERYTHING that matters when it comes to Introversion/Extroversion and there is litteraly nothing else to it.
Higher Dopamine = Extrovert
Lower Dopamine = Introvert

This is where my thesis comes from that Parkinsons medication like Levodopa n Selegiline can cure introversion and make you become extrovert comes from. Because Parkinsons medications increases your brains dopamine production , thats exactly the only reason. I have also read others having this same theory about parkinsons medication n introversion/extroverdsion on other forums.

Low cortisol, high dopamine is the low inhib extrovert combo, caffeine increases adrenaline and cortisol.

So are there side effects to taking Parkinson’s medication when you don’t have Parkinson’s? Will it affect your body’s ability to naturally produce dopamine, especially once you stop taking the medication? Feels too good to be true.

I dont think its that simple tbh. Yeah you can boost it for some time but then everything goes back or even to lower levels. Brutal tbh, there is no way to permanently change brain chemistry

Selegeline is quite effective with low tolerance build-up because it's mao-b inhibitor (with some other properties also). It works mostly on lower brain structures (subcortical), which are responsible for movements, libido, some kind of a "drive". Quite good for people who want to bring the "youthful joy" back. If dose is kept moderate, then you can use it for a long time, way longer than stimulants.
In case of Parkinson's, it's not just dopamine levels, but number of receptors and neurons in areas responsible for movements. Ideally, you would want something to restore neurons there, some neurotrophic factors.
Sensitivity to dopamine can be restored to some extent by NMDA receptor antagonists, such as agmatine (suppliment), memantine (prescribed drug) and ketamine (well, you know). Uridine, 9-ME-BC and C60 are also talked about, but with less evidence.

Don't take Parkinson medication if you don't have the disease...

Yes, they can cause a decrease in your body's natural ability do produce dopamine, and induce Parkinson-like symptoms when you quit them, just like abusing testosterone or steroids can decrease your natural T levels, and many pro bodybuilders may end up on TRT for the rest of their life.

Proof? You can go on test and then get off and return to normal T levels. If you take a low dose deprenyl, byspel 2.5 mgs and take weekends off, WHILE also living a high dopamine lifestyle (sport, sun, good food, women, etc), you will be fine, the dopamine will go back to baseline, which may be lower after time due to normal aging conditions. Regular weed, tabacco, speed, other dopaminergic substance use is much more damaging to the dopamine system. In fact there is hypothesis that even after stopping deprenyl, you could have higher baseline dopamine.

It does because Selegiline is a MAO inhibitor, it keeps more of your neurotransmitter stored in the brain so you feel the mental effects coffee n nicotine stronger n longer.

With the right nootropics (cdp choline + DHA/EPA + uridine) and Parkinsons medications (the ones i mentioned in OP) this can be prevented. Uridine needs to be taken under tounge for it to absorb well.

Nicotine also protect against loss of dopaminergic neurons.

Nofap/Noporn keeps your dopamine receptors more sensitive.

High Testosterone = Higher dopamine production

Parkinsons medication (levodopa and selegiline)
Nootropics like uridine + cdp choline + DHA/EPA
Get all the B vitamins
Nofap/Noporn
Injectable Testosterone
Nicotine to protect loss of dopamine neurons (pure nicotine though, without tobacco)

There are more but would have to research first

I dont take any narcotics anymore though

Interesting take. I’m an introvert and have always had this thought that extroverts gain greater joy (dopamine) from doing the same activities

nah on caffeine im not more extroverted

Caffine raises your cortisol too though which counteracts the benefits of dopamine. Im not extroverted on coffee either (maybe slightly more extroverted if I have low tolerance). The dopamine n introversion/extroversion theory is still legit though.

Yeah tabacco n speed n adhd pills n weed n narcotics in general are the bad ones. Parkinsons medication is good.

I dont believe parkinsons medication causes downregulation/tolerance because they dont act as a receptor agonists so that means they wont desensitize receptors . They raise dopamine through other ways , levodopa through being a precursor to dopamine in the production of dopamine. Selegiline by keeping more dopamine stored as its a MAO-Inhibitor
