EASIEST WAY TO DETERMINE IF YOUR MAXILLA IS RECESSED (old lookism method)

This is going to be short NO BS Guide on how to determine if you have recessed maxilla.


How to do it?
1. Make a picture from the side while smiling.

2. Compare the sagittal position of your front teeth compared to the nasion (image a vertical line from the nasion - nasion line).


Things to not do if you want to see result:
No tilting.

It's crucial that you have an neutral head postion while you taking the picture.

Habitual tilting of the head to the left or right side should be avoided.


Often people tilt their head up when they take a profile picture which is not legit.

Don't hold in the camera in front of you and then just turn your head to the side like this.

If your teeth are protruding like this, method won't work.

Camera must be on point - meaning

At the same vertical level with your face.

At the same sagittal level with your face.

If the camera angle isn't perfect the results are worthless.


Results:
If your teeth are at the same level with the nasion line your maxilla is average.

If your teeth are beyond the nasion line your maxilla is protruding.

If your teeth are behind the nasion line your maxilla is recessed.

What if you have an extremely weak nasion, then the method won't matter lol. You shouldn't measure anything relative to the nasion because the nasion can also be recsesed
