Extremely brutal time perception pill (HALF of your life is over at 20)

this life is trash

I feel like the years just go by faster and faster tbh. I’m turning 21 and years after 2015 especially has especially gone by quicker and quicker each year. If it goes fast now then imagine how fast it will go in 20-30 years. Even my boomer parents and silent gen grandparents say it often. You don’t make new memories anymore as an adult, and your perception of the world is different, so it makes sense that time perception is off. An example of this is how I was born in 2001, but the early 2000s feels like an eternity ago (even though I still have memories of that time), but the early 2010s doesn’t feel long ago, but it’s the same time span between the early 00s and early 10s, as the 10s to the early 2020s.

I can only think that spending my formative developing years in isolation, depression and spite is just gonna stick with me for the rest of my life
Did these three years and a half pass slower or quicker?

Honestly, feels normal as to how time should pass. It feels like it went quick, but at the same time it feels like 3+ years. One of my silent gen grandparents just passed recently, so it makes me nostalgic for that past time when they were still alive and kicking. Never thought I’d be nostalgic for 2022 but here we are

I'm 31 years old but for some reason it feels like Mass Effect came out just a few years ago (it's 10 years old) and I still vividly remember all the games I played and stuff I watched between 2007-2014. I literally can't believe it's been 10+ fucking years because it literally feels like it all happened last year.
I'm nearly 35 years old and I feel like I made this comment last year :feelswhat:

incel feels time fly by in the blink of an eye

chad's life is full of exhilarating joy, everyday is an adventure
And also this tbh.

I think OP is forgetting that most normies have nothing to live for, which is why time flies fast after their youth is over. If there are no more 'life landmarks' to map the territory of their lifetime, all the memories will start blending together, hence it feels like time has moved on fast, when in reality they just can't remember anything interesting from recent history.

EDIT: I will also add that as you age, you stop feeling excited about anything because there's no more novel experiences, which makes you care less, creating the perception that time is passing faster.
