I probably sound like a broken cassette player, but intermittent fasting is the bread and butter for me in order to be productive and somewhat organized. When you don't get a frequent dopamine fix via eating, you have to get it otherwise and actually earn it, that is get something done and be productive. Doing OMAD at the end of the day got me into the habit of breaking my fast only after I have taken care of my duties and chores.

I need a clean body (shower, fresh clothes), clean environment (clean room, doing laundry, cleaning cooking utensils BEFORE having my meal) and at least one check on my daily to-do list before I feel comfortable to finally sit down and eat. Because if you only eat once per day and sometimes go several days without food and are in a calorie deficit on top of that, you want to enjoy that meal as much as you possibly can and not have your mind occupied with unfinished tasks and worries. I therefore have to be more productive and earn my food similar to how our hunter gatherer ancestors had to earn theirs, albeit in a slightly different way. It is for these reasons that fasting is a deeply cleansing practice at all levels; physically and mentally, inside and out, from the cells in your body to the house you live in

I’ve stopped keeping groceries in my house and go to store everytime I need food to stimulate the ancient hunter part of my brain.

Having less energy(not eating) would in fact have the opposite effect

Caged at this. Are you actually comparing picking up dead animal flesh with the highest effort being walking three steps towards the convenience store and back and carrying a light plastic bag to risking your life and sprinting for hours while hunting a mammoth, completely depleted of glycogen?

You fell for the scam. You'll always find the energy to work for things that are important to you and there are few desires as strong as a basic survival instinct like eating. Besides, digestion uses up a lot of energy itself and as long as there's some flesh on your body, you'll be just fine since we've evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to be able to go without food for weeks. Eating once per day is pathetic, compared to what your body can handle

Unproductivity isn't an energy problem, it's mostly psychological and poor habits. If you can light up your reward center at any time you want via food, without any effort, how would you feel compelled to get off your ass and do something productive?

Yeah I've done "intermittent fasting" before and felt like shit, total scam
You're just weak. Keep comforting yourself with junk food while rotting in bed all day, getting a heart attack from your clogged arteries, obesity and repulsive appearance if you accidentally look in the mirror

Do you have any tips for digestion while doing OMAD? Ive been having an issue with it recently.

Infast (involuntary starving)

Why are all of your posts
1. projections(you need to starve yourself for incentive to "work" and call rejection of this idea weakness)
2. just straight bullshit

Maybe if you ate you would have the energy to say something intelligent

What issue?
I feel bloated and can't shit after doing it every morning. I am trying to do more cardio but it doesn't seem to work as well as I would like it to.

Sometimes you need to exaggerate a bit to get a message across

doing cardio on OMAD... lol.
I can do cardio on 0 mad too. I don't really like eating, that's why I do OMAD. I can just eat and get it over with.

Life hack tbh

What do you usually eat? It's normal to poop less often if you eat less frequently. What and how much do you drink while you fast?

I normally eat dried fruit whole grains and other health foods. It may have been that today I had some cheat foods like white bread. Then again idk. I normally eat 2000 calories in my OMAD meal. And I drink 70 percent of my bodyweight in ounces of water per day.

I'd cut down on dried fruit and eat ripe, fresh fruit instead. Dried fruit are extremely calorically dense and dehydrated, which can contribute to constipation. Also, define "other health foods". If you want my advice, I need more elaborate information

Olive oil, protein powder, and salad.

Calorically dense foods take too long for me to eat, I heard that dried fruit helps constipation. I think it was the soybean oil in the white bread I ate. And Ive noticed ive had negative effects from other sources of soy recently.

Olive oil, protein powder, and salad.
The first two aren't "health foods". Anyway, drop the protein powder, replace dried with fresh fruit, eat more green leafy vegetables and move more. If the things you mentioned are all you eat, you should definitely add more variety to your diet. Psyllium husk, probiotics, sugar alcohols, fructose and magnesium may all relieve constipation but I'd always try with diet first. Are you using any other supplements apart from protein? Medication? Do you drink coffee or alcohol?

I use creatine, and a multivitamin.

It aint fasting untill it is 36+ hours. I gained weight on OMAD, because i wont bother looking absolutely shredded in the winter, and im doing these daily omad fasts DRY.

This is how lean i looked in summer at 150lbs 6'1. Now im 165lbs because i cant walk shirtless during the winter. When i was super shredded i did a minimum 1x 36hr dry fast a week. When i cranked it up during my absolutely lowest weight i did 2x 36hrs a week or a 48 hour fast once a week. Prolonged dry fasts is TOUGH when ur as shredded

Makes sense fasting helps with insulin resistance and your test levels actually dip after a meal
I'm usually the most focused and productive when I abstain from food until it gets dark

OMAD is a type of intermittent fasting. Those are just terms that describe similar practices that all share the same core concept: abstinence from food for a given period of time. Hence your first meal of the day is called "break-fast". The benefits are there ime, even with just 20-22 hours of fasting

What do u think of dry fasting compared to water fasting?

I don't know anything about it, except that you're supposed to abstain from water and all other liquids as well. I've never done a dry fast. It seems like a horrible idea but then again, I have no idea about the benefits and advantages it's supposed to have over water fasting. I've never looked into it

Your thread sounds a lot relatable to me

I do OMAD the week-end and I always have a to-do list, I also enjoy a lot my meal when I break my fast after I did all the tasks I wanted during the day, it's the ultimate reward for me.

I have a job during the week and OMAD would be hard then

If you’re eating in a deficit whilst fasting. Then yeah, it sucks.

I bulked but did intermittent fasting. And I think I adapted very well (from the higher cals).

Fasting, stress hormones and depleted liver glycogen go hand in hand
