I started oral finasteride around July of 2024 taking 1mg a day, I noticed nipple sensitivity in my right nipple and stopped taking it after like 2 weeks. I already have sensitive nipples like it doesn't interfere with anything but if I rub them they give a sensation. During this time I remember hyper-focusing on my nipples and probing them a ton. I think this also contributed more to it also I was reading all the side effect horror stories as well. I am not sure if this was nocebo or not. I didn't end up developing gyno.
Now at April 2025, I started looking at my hairline and seeing that my corners look pretty far back. I've always had mature-ish corners but I decided I want to be proactive before it gets worse and have possible regrowth. I decided to hop back on finasteride since I still had the pills from awhile back. I started again but this time on 0.5mg of finasteride, I bought a pill splitter and started cutting them in half. I still ended getting nipple sensitivity in my right nipple though. This time I tried not to probe them though, but I am still kinda of hyperfocusing on them while I am at home and not busy doing anything.
I am going to try to cut the pills in half again so I can have a dosage 0.25mg and see if this does anything. Part of me feels like its nocebo since like when I am preoccupied with a task and I am not thinking about my nipples they are not sensitive for instance if I am doing an assignment, or working out or doing something that requires my attention I don't notice the sensitivity at all. But the moment I think about my nipple, I start feeling it rub in my shirt, feel it when I flex my pec and look it and compare my right with my left nipple.
Its probably been around 2ish weeks since I started finasteride again and I've seen that nipple sensitivity is a common side effect, so this leads me to believe that it may not be nocebo. I've heard conflicting viewpoints: some people say to stay on finasteride and say that it eventually goes away after your body gets accustomed to the drug and other people say hop off immediately before developing tits.
Also, I am not fat or obese. I have a muscular-ish build and I work out.
What should I do?
