I was visiting a library in Berlin when I overheard a group of young women speaking about cities & why they are so difficult to part ways from. I began to think about the psychology of a woman, and why this may be more applicable to women than to men.
Women are affable creatures, and rely on social cues to function naturally throughout their lives. Human interaction is very important to women, expression & freedom of opinion is something they value very greatly.
I began looking into the statistics of the male-female ratio in larger cities such as Berlin, and some American cities such as New York & California. The data was as I had expected.
Young women outnumber men by a substantial margin in many large cities in America, but also in cities all across the world. The reason for this has been hypothesized to be the result of urbanization, where large flocks of migrants come to countries. This relates to what I stated earlier about women being sociable creatures, but there are also other reasons I believe this is occurring.
1. Women tend to be left-winged
Cities are known to have many left-leaning inhabitants. (This mainly applies to America) Women tend to be democratic, which may contribute to them seeking homes in larger, urbanized cities in America.
2. Women require attention & need constant interaction
As I've stated, women are biologically crafted to seek affection & attention. Whether this be seen as good or bad, it is something they take very seriously. By moving to larger, industrialized cities, they are forming a safety net around themselves, and preventing 'loneliness'
3. Hypergamy & Promiscuity
Self explanatory. By moving to a large city, a woman is bettering her chances at finding a 'worthy mate', and also protecting herself from the dependence on so called 'inferior men'
Though this is a very important subject, it may occur without anyone even realizing it. The statistics are in front of everyone, though it has not been talked about at all. I hope by making this thread I bring awareness to this subject.
