It sounds comical, but there may be some logic to it. Burgers are designed to be held, flattened by pressure and chewed. If you're capable of chewing a large size burger (hence fitting it into your mouth with good bite sizes), chances are you have an average to good mouth palate.

If, however, you struggle and require sizing it down to a smaller portion (rather than directly taking a bite and chewing), chances are you have a NARROW palate.
