Do you really think someone like Ana De Armas is less attractive than someone like the model Molly Blair? For the average man, the answer is definitely no. Ana De Armas would never make it as a supermodel, though. She's just not the "model type"--tall, scrawny, angular face.

It's not even clear if this is true to begin with. Search for studies, and you'll find varied results.

It's not a strawman. Ana De Armas is more attractive than Molly Blair. It doesn't matter if you're talking about unattractive men's opinions, attractive men's opinions, tall men's or short men's. This indicates something different than pure attractiveness is relevant in becoming a model.

Those high fashion jobs are the "good jobs" of the modeling industry. Only a handful of models ever are VS Angels. High fashion is what success looks like for most models. Women who reach that level are the ones who could sometimes sustain a living off that career. My example is a fine example of a successful model (but there are many others who would serve the same purpose, looking worse than De Armas).
