There are only four types of people...
1) Low Achiever with Low Effort - This person sets low goals, and barely puts any effort into them.
Example: 17 yr old dude, living with parents. He set a goal to clean up the room he lives in, but instead slept until 11PM until his mom woke him up and then played videogames for the rest of the day. This person probably still didn't emotionally mature yet, as there was nothing in life to make him mature. If you are this after the age of 16-18, you should really get your shit together.
2) Low Achiever with High Effort - This person sets low goals, but puts a lot of effort into them.
Example: 21 yr old girl, who goes to work everyday, drives a Nissan Altima, and is fairly financially stable. She gets good grades in school, and is fairly organized. This person has developed high effort, but too scared or too lazy to place goals higher. Will live average life
3) High Achiever with Low Effort - This person sets very high goals, but does nothing to achieve them.
Example: 19 yr old guy. He has always been a good student, up until highschool/college. His grades dropped as he wasn't ready for the amount of workload as he was used to understanding concepts quickly. He tries to set goals, such as move out from parents house, while still failing all of his courses because he can't sit down and do an hour of homework.
4) High Achiever with High Effort - This person sets high goals, and never gives up attempting to reach them.
Example: 20 yr old guy, who owns a social media marketing company with 5 employees which he started during lockdown, as he saw opportunity in that field. He has a goal to become a millionaire by the end of 2022, so he invests and saves his money. His parents are proud of him, and he is living an enjoyable life while also being academically successful.
Here's something I sketched really fast. Ofc, ideal person would continue the momentum of a low effort/high goal person (dashed line), while keeping a steady effort. Breaking point for a lot of people is at late teens, early twenties. Once life throws shit at you, you have to adapt and become more high effort.
TLDR
It's all about setting high goals, while also putting high effort. That's all it takes to become successful in life, whatever the definition of success is for you. It's really all about mixing two good qualities together.
Why this happens?
Lack of maturity for effort, and compliance with averageness for goals.
For example, low effort/high goals people start off much better than everyone. They are intelligent, but that's what destroys them in the end. They never learned how to put in the work. If this type of person learns how to put in effort, he will be unstoppable.
Then, go to your school/uni library, and notice how it's 95% women in there. They are putting in crazy amounts of effort, but just for a grade in the gradebook. They are fine with living average life, there is no risk taking. They are fine with driving their leased car. They are fine with going out every weekend. This type of person is high effort/low goals. This is why many more guys are homeless and broke compared to women, but also why many more guys are rich and successful compared to women. Testosterone plays a huge part in risk taking, and competitiveness - but does nothing for effort. That one is a learned skill
