Most looksmaxxers, especially the new TikTok ones, say that health is beauty. This idea has been thrown around the looksmax community as a common sense ideal, but research shows the opposite. Animal studies have previously shown that there is a trade off between attractiveness and health. Each animal has a set number of resources, and diverting certain resources towards health detracts from physical appearance. In 2017, researchers did a similar study in humans.They found that perceived health positively correlated with attractiveness, however, actual health had no correlation. People with attractive faces didn't have any less oxidative stress or a better immune response.

Essentially, it's much more important to look healthy than actually be healthy.

The whole health= attractiveness thing leads idiots to do “functional fitness” ahh unaesthetic routine instead of going bodybuilder mode.

It leads people to not use skincare products, sunscreen, or hair products due to “muh chemicals”

It also causes people to NOT accept surgeries that can ascend them because “muh unnatural”
