How do you guys read manga or watch anime without getting heavily depressed ?

Especially the slice of life ones where the protagonists lead perfect lives , they re popular , have harems , social life etc...

Hell i was just reading a few random chapters of the nagatoro manga(cant be bothered reading the entire thing) : it s basically the average nerdy incel outcast who suddenly gets attention and teased by a girl and so he finally gets a social life , how can the author(who of course has to be some japanese neet ) even bring himself to write this is beyond me.
I easily immersed myself in the manga so when i stopped reading i got ran over by a train of suicidal thoughts , realizing i will never experience this .

I have to stop looking at this stuff in order to keep my feet on the ground .

I would never dedicatedly read slice of life, or any type of romance, hentai, or ecchi perverted Jb or modern trope behavioral programming nonsense. I would also stay away from most ones that had perv content like bro/sis questionable relationships, 10000 year old dragon girl that looks 12yo, or pushover friendly MCs. I dont view female MC either.

When i still was reading, i would only read the isekeis. Preferably murim as their not always baised towards facial appearance, and also preferably the world building ones, or the ones when you have a sort of monster evolution. Id stay away from gore too. I also would make it a routine to get addblockers and DNS filters to block pornographic content and keywords, and block certain elements of the page that would otherwise show me ecchi content.

I'm godpilled and biblemaxx, so i would mainly enjoy this type because it gave my mind a sort of better way to conceptualize the reward, and the justice those who endure the pain and follow the truth would receive. It was like a sort of boost when i was feeling shitty from abstaining from porn, or modern women and honeytraps, injustice towards man, temptation etc. etc. Sometimes id read some to see if test myself on if the MC is actually morally precise and to watch from adopting certain behaviors.

I dont consume it anymore really because that imagination can sometimes get in the way of real life, and also how they draw women so lustful does not help at all with lust or fem look programming. but really, im considering if a good morally correct manga would be suitable to consume if I'm too tempted for life, vs doing something not in my current nature (like drinking of alcohol or fornication).
Even the thought of rather reading manhua would help me not do both.

I used to be heavily into Manhwas but ever since I discovered blackpill it's just never been the same coz I can't relate to the MC, he's only getting those harems coz he's hot

Berserk is the best i read tbh , im also currently reading" 7 seeds" and i have to say it s a really good one as well , there are moments ,conversations and inner monologues that feel incredibly realistic and relatable .

Really imo, blackpill is nothing new under the sun. I'm pretty sure rome was like this too. Id imagine they were many incels not getting part of the action. And theres verses that literally speak of hypergamy and literal tons more about female nature and lookism.

Where should one start? I pretty much learn about this randomly , i know slave and master morality, ubermensch , Stoicism etc...

Try to read 'Lookism'. It also released a animated version. 'Lookism' goes into the blackpill theory and it is also brutal how some people are treated on looks and also the whole involvement of luck.
