how do you hide the fact that you wear lifts from girlfriend

im 6'0.5 morning height and I wear airforces + 1.5 inch lifts when im with her adding 2.5 inches I claim 6'2 to her and she belives it for now.
how do I hide it when i have to take my shoes off? (they look stupid on the ground)
she is also tall 5'10 so id so get caught if my shoes came off.
I was thinking sock lifts (for barefoot) + slowly tapering down the height so she doesnt notice.
