How many (non-fiction) books have you read this year?

I am not a fucking nerd you fucking loser. Ans you aren't even learning anything from books
I learned that your mother was Frank Sinatra’s prostitute once and gave Hugh Grant a blowjob from reading a book.

How do y'all manage to read and not forget what you read like 5 seconds after or forget to memorise, or with fucked up attention span
Try reading first thing in the morning.

i hate fiction, literal tales
I hate non fiction, "philosophers" are retards who just can't get to the fucking point

I also only mention philosophy because it's the only non-fiction text I could see myself leisurely reading.

Most finance and self help books are complete garbage.

I wanted to start reading Dostovoesky along with other Russian authors from that era, or Kafka, just gotta make time. I've heard a lot of interesting quotes from them already
Dostoyevski is great and I highly recommend him. He's not everyone's cup of tea as some people find his characters too obsessive. It is true but not an obstacle in my case. If you want to give him a try "The Gambler" and "Notes from the Underground" are short novels and pretty light compared to his other works. "Brothers Kamarazov" and "Crime and Punishment" are quite long and might require several rereads but I found all very enjoyable.

0 reading is overrated

fiction > non-fiction

The only book ive ever red in my entire Life until now was the art of war

All the worst, most tedious people think shit like this. First of all, the language is usually vastly superior, so while the stories might be fake, the words are real. Secondly, all the best fiction uses its literal tales merely as a vehicle for shedding light on psychological and philosophical truths.

Nietzsche said of Dostoevsky, “He was the only psychologist I had anything to learn from.”

But you're too fucking smart for fiction.

What are your 2 favorite books?

Only a few. Hope to read more next year.

15 books tbh
All of ‘em are written by Neville Goddard
Run away from that cult asap. It won't change anything in your life, you will be just fucking idiot thinking he is smart just like religions work.

If you have time to read books in 2024 it's over for you. First of all books are useless. Second thing is that even watching tiktoks/youtube shorts make you learn something while books do nothing.

Already proved it to myself time after time, then why would I stop?

I have only recently started getting into reading and reading more, keeping attention while reading has always been hard for me, and I also read very slow. I just got a book about the Norman conquest and plan on reading more history books by acknowledged historians

do threads count

Consciousness shifting / How belief in the unseen reality hardens it into fact slowly but surely. Neville is well known and has a large community among his teachings, he was a great writer and seemed to have an insane life experience/testimony. One of his biggest success is the company he imagined with his brother on Barbados, which has crossed the 1B$ revenue barrier last year.
I keep getting Neville recommended to me ill listen to one of his lectures tbh
