Tanning causes wrinkles because the UV in sunlight damages callogen, elastin and the DNA in your cells. This can lead to skin cancer.wait so if tanning causes wrinkles, would beta carotene induce faster aging in the skin aswell?

Beta-carotene break down to a retinol, better known as vitamin A.
Beta-carotene is the carotenoid that most directly breaks down to retinol and is found in fruits and vegetables like carrots. Other than it's effect as an anti-oxidant it is also an orange/yellow pigment. Having excess beta-carotene then means that your body gets that golden glow.
That's why people here say they're carrotmaxxing
You can also buy it as a dietary supplement.
Basically:
- Beta carotene is a red/orange pigment found in many fresh fruits and vegetables
- Beta carotene is converted into vitamin A, an essential vitamin
- Vitamin A is toxic at high levels
- Beta carotene is a carotenoid and an antioxidant
- Foods rich in vitamin A include onions, carrots, peas, spinach and squash
P.S, you can still tan with beta-carotene, it will only make the glow more apparent. It's an easy looksmaxx and definitely worth the 5€ in supplements.
what dosage is optimal for a beta carotene supplement then?Tanning causes wrinkles because the UV in sunlight damages callogen, elastin and the DNA in your cells. This can lead to skin cancer.

I may be being braindead but couldn't this be due to vitamin A toxicity? or is it not a concern? Vitamin A toxicity has some pretty harmful effects.Tanning causes wrinkles because the UV in sunlight damages callogen, elastin and the DNA in your cells. This can lead to skin cancer.
