Anecdote but if I see a repulsive looking girl and then she gets more attractive years later I still think of when I first see her and don't find her attractive. Same thing with men, I just think they're frauding and the first impression was their true self even if it's not true.

Yeah same, like even if someone has a huge glow-up they are still the same person. I guess its probably because of some half-concious evolutionary mechanism that makes us select the best genes or whatever, but yeah, it does matter a lot, people may treat you better but they won't forget where you came from. Brutal, but it goes both ways I believe, if you lose your atractivness due to ageing people will still respect you for who you used to be. Look at all these top-tier actors who are quite mid looking now but used to be chads before
