I can get in 3cm comfortably and 5cm my foot is sticking out the shoe quite substantially.

Your best bet is to get lift shoes imo

1 more question sir, 5 cm of hard insoles or compress one. Also tldr : At 5cm shoe lift, I'll get caught but at 3cm i won't

Post 1 inch it's noticeable while sitting is what I also thought, But so many people claim they put 1.5 or 2 inches as well. Strange considering the shoe has 3 inch of foot room inside it only.
