How can I become more social?

I’m in the 11th grade and I’ve only made around 3-4 BEST friends and a couple normal friends. I feel like I should have a bigger social circle for being in the same school for 3 years. I want my high school life to be something I can remember, something that I can tell my kids about in the future (like stories) how can I get a bigger social circle fast? I’m super shy and I don’t want to be like that any more.
