I got 66% harmony but I'm like mtn

Great thread bhai! mirin effort and i lowkey needed this.:feelsokman:

I decided to create a detailed thread on this topic because while many people post about facial harmony, most guides miss crucial information, specifically the ranges for each tier. You need to know these ranges to assign points accurately in the first place.

After reading this thread, you will be fully equipped to measure harmony yourself. I have broken this down into three sections:

How to properly measure ratios.
How to assign tiers to each ratio.
How to assign points per tier and calculate the overall harmony score.

1. HOW TO MEASURE RATIOS + WHICH APP TO USE AND HOW TO USE IT

To begin, we will need software capable of precise measurements. I recommend using GIMP or photoshop. Both serve the same purpose, but I find GIMP slightly more user friendly for this specific process.

First step - mapping the face.

Download and open your GIMP app.
Now, simply paste your image using CTR + V or go to FILE > OPEN and select your picture.

Next, you will have to enable some of the view settings below:

Note that everything you are doing will be pointless if the photo you're measuring is even slightly distorted. Only measure non distorted photos, if it's you or someone else that want to measure their harmony ensure you're taking the photo:

I suggest setting a 15-30 second timer.
Photo quality also matters.

Okay, now once you mapped the face.
You can start by measuring distance between the guides you placed.

I decided to create a detailed thread on this topic because while many people post about facial harmony, most guides miss crucial information, specifically the ranges for each tier. You need to know these ranges to assign points accurately in the first place.

On the upper taskbar, click view and ensure the following options are checked:

View attachment 4804649
View attachment 4804650
View attachment 4804652
Don't touch the rest of the boxes that are not shown here, just leave them as they are.

Now, you should be able to see the rulers on the top and on the sides of your workspace that appeared. Click on a ruler and drag your mouse toward the photo to place a guide.

VIDEO:

If you want to undo the guide simply press CTRL + Z to go back.

Zoom into the picture to place your guides accurately.

Example of a mapped face.

Note that everything you are doing will be pointless if the photo you're measuring is even slightly distorted. Only measure non distorted photos, if it's you or someone else that want to measure their harmony ensure you're taking the photo:

- with slight camera zoom
- using the back camera and facing directly onto the camera.
- The camera must stand at your nose height.

+ You can close your eyes and shake your head a little bit, then imagine you're looking at yourself in the mirror, finally open your eyes. This should help you fix your head at the proper position. Redo this until you know for sure your head is in the proper position.
I suggest setting a 15-30 second timer.
Photo quality also matters.

Okay, now once you mapped the face.
You can start by measuring distance between the guides you placed.

How to measure distance in GIMP?
To measure distrance in gimp you have to simply use measure tool by clicking SHIFT + M.

2. Now, after we went through measuring ratios > assigning tiers > assigning points for each tier, add up all the points you scored and divide them by the maximum points (275) = Frontal Harmony Score

tf did i get 91.45% frontal harmony
far from mirror back cam shot
T1 everything besides

t2: Fwhr, neck, brow setness, u/l lip ratio, lower third proportion
t3: bitemporal, mouth to nose

the formula for calculating the final harmony score is wrong. U're supposed to use the min max normalisation formula since the formula u gave suggests the lowest score is 0 even tho it's not. the actual formula should be (your harm-min harm)/(max harm-min harm)

How to assign points per tier and calculate the overall harmony score.

Note that everything you are doing will be pointless if the photo you're measuring is even slightly distorted. Only measure non distorted photos, if it's you or someone else that want to measure their harmony ensure you're taking the photo:

Photo quality also matters.

Okay, now once you mapped the face.
You can start by measuring distance between the guides you placed.

I decided to create a detailed thread on this topic because while many people post about facial harmony, most guides miss crucial information, specifically the ranges for each tier. You need to know these ranges to assign points accurately in the first place.

On the upper taskbar, click view and ensure the following options are checked:

View attachment 4804652
Don't touch the rest of the boxes that are not shown here, just leave them as they are.

Now, you should be able to see the rulers on the top and on the sides of your workspace that appeared. Click on a ruler and drag your mouse toward the photo to place a guide.

Lower Third Proportion
Create a line from below of the nose (start of the philtrum) to the middle of the lips
Now, divide it by the line going also from below the nose all the way to the end of the chin.

Ipsilateral Angle
Create an angle which centre point is placed below of the nose tip and goes to the outer corners of the eyes all the way to the outer part of the brows.

Deviation of IAA and JFA
Deviation between the ipsilateral and jaw angle

2. Now, after we went through measuring ratios > assigning tiers > assigning points for each tier, add up all the points you scored and divide them by the maximum points (275) = Frontal Harmony Score

On the upper taskbar, click view and ensure the following options are checked:

Don't touch the rest of the boxes that are not shown here, just leave them as they are.

Now, you should be able to see the rulers on the top and on the sides of your workspace that appeared. Click on a ruler and drag your mouse toward the photo to place a guide.

According to this I have 80% harmoney and I am ltn.

I decided to create a detailed thread on this topic because while many people post about facial harmony, most guides miss crucial information, specifically the ranges for each tier. You need to know these ranges to assign points accurately in the first place.

3. HOW TO CALCULATE HARMONY SCORE FROM TIERS

1. Assign the points for each ratio from the table below

Bitemporal Width7.53.751.880-1.88-3.75
Lower Third Proportion52.51.250-1.25-2.5

2. Now, after we went through measuring ratios > assigning tiers > assigning points for each tier, add up all the points you scored and divide them by the maximum points (275) = Frontal Harmony Score

yo isn’t this too little ratios? Theres only 20? Shouldn’t there be more??

bro you have to get (your score-worst score) / (max score-worst score) for overall harmony
