How to convince my ortho

Im 16 y/o, and my braces are almost done aligning my teeth. Im pretty sure next step is rubber bands since I have an overbite, but i dont want camouflage orthodontics but real mandible growth with something like a Herbst appliance. How can I tell this to my Ortho in a normal way, while also getting it covered by insurance (already paid out of pocket for braces bc my shitty insurance didn't cover it).
