How to gain body fat the right way?

I have a muscular build due to being an athlete, but my body fat is very low. How can I address this correctly?

How low would you say it is?

Because ideally you want it to be around 10-12%.

If it's around that range then I wouldn't recommend gaining more fat.
 
I think you should keep your bodyfat around 12-15% and anything lower than that is dangerous for your health. Consume more animal fat, if you want to gain it healthy way.
