During the day i have tons of energy , etc but when it comes to working out i can barley do 50s with 2 reps before fatigue kicks in . I almost absolutely need a carbohydrate source or else i feel dead

If you power through it your body will get more fat-adapted (better at utilizing ketones for energy) over time, as well as more efficient at gluconeogenesis.

Or, you just take a simple carb supplement pwo / have some fruit. You don’t need to be no carb for the majority of carnivore diet benefits, but the first way is obviously preferable if planning to do it long term.

Try listening to your body instead of listening to autists recommending carnivore

If you eat death and abuse, what do you expect? Maybe try not to be a criminal and eat nutritious food instead.

You should add milk before & after you workout like I do

Like 0.5-0.5 liter before & after

Not eating ANY carbs is catabolic

Any diet that doesn't let you eat fruit is fucking stupid. Maybe only get carbs on gym days? Like oatmeal

Have you lost any muscle since starting carnivore? I lost mostly water weight and bloat

Which nutrients? I’m eager to know.

Eat more calories. Eggs and minced beef are affordable ways to get in clean nutrition. Energy should not be a problem. Btw mods should perma ban anyone promoting plant based shit here, it's like promoting smoking or obesity, it doesn't belong in a looksmaxing forum.

No, but if you completely cut out carbs you can lose muscle. Water weight drop usually occurs at the beginning

Keto/Carnivore makes you feel great mentally and is good for cutting.

But building muscle on it? It's possible in theory, however, you just don't find examples on the internet of guys who bulked and built muscles on it.

My experience is that once you go past maintenance calories you start having gastro problems, like acid reflux, gerd, and so on. The high amount of fat is very hard to digest. Also, you lose the mental benefits, because that amount of protein and fat will just kick you out of ketosis anyway.

Not all carbohydrates are created equal though. Lentils are way less antiketogenic than others, and you can eat them at night, have a better sleep, restore glucose, and still be in ketosis by the morning if you are doing it for the cognitive benefits. So maybe after doing an elimination diet, just reintroduce carbs slowly and find out what works for you.

It's great for losing body fat. Puts your body in ketosis, body starts utilizing fat stores right away once you've been in caloric deficit for 24-48 hours while eating only meat.

Carnivore diet is shit for working out.
You will get way, way better lifting results (and therefore, better muscle hypertrophy) if you eat carbs before a workout.

I have tried to work out while in ketosis and it just doesn't work. You will feel lethargic and bad.

There is no need to demonize carbohydrates. Excess carbs and high blood sugar are bad *if you are trying to lose body fat*.
Excess carbs and glycogen in your system right before lifting heavy weights is a good thing and will give you a huge energy boost.

Why did you choose a diet which isn’t researched in long term, isn’t done by 99% of people who still live healthy life’s and reach top tier athletic goals etc.
On top it’s expensive as fuck in most countries.

The only reason for you to choose this diet is if your body is legit unable to digest other foods. But this is extremely rare and an individual case.
And in your case your body literally tells you that he needs something else. Jfl

It is utterly retarded to go on carnivore if you're trying to build muscle. The animals are all fed corn and soy and god knows what else anyway. And at least for me the hardest part of bulking is getting the calories, carnivore makes that way harder. Not to mention the cost of it.

If you want to eat healthier carbs you can eat sourdough bread and sweet potatoes, these have very few anti-nutrients and don't spike blood sugar as much (especially sourdough). Only point in doing carnivore/keto is if you're a mcfatso who can't stop stuffing your face.

Also, if you are doing it for cognitive benefits, take a look at Ketone Esters. Not the salts.

The ester is a bit expensive, but if you wake up early and skip breakfast, take 15 ml of the ester, you get the same mental clarity of deep ketosis until you eat lunch without having to eat a keto diet at all. You can go high carb with an 8h mental clarity window every day.

utter bullshit and mods should actually ban you for spreading pure misinformation

and don't cope by like saying muh 'healthy user bias' that can't be the case when its literally every study and meta-analysis that show people who eat more plants live longer

Interesting take, certainly 0% chance of acid reflux on carnivore, maybe you’d get that on a fad diet like keto though.
Absolutely never eat a lentil.
Eat fruit before workout OP.

Fat has 9.3 calories per gram vs carbohydrate’s 4.1, I don’t get where people get this idea from that you need carbs for calories

Its stupidly easy to build muscle on carnivore, you just need to increase your milk intake. I’m the living proof of it

we were never meant to go carnivore and exceptions don't make the rule
look at real carnivores like lions who were meant to be carnivore they have COMPLETELY different GI systems than humans, we literally have long bowels for the process of fermentation so we can produce short chain fatty acids

and the 'plants have muh toxic compounds in them so we shouldn't eat them' argument is also like super retarded because if they were so toxic they sure are doing a horrible job of killing us because people who eat more plants live longer

These studies all confer a highly superficial view of how foods work.

Plant antioxidants are total garbage and a biochemical drop in the bucket compared to glutathione and other endogenously produced molecules, or even plain old Vitamin C.

Any indirect increase in antioxidant activity by plant foods occurs IN RESPONSE to systemic damage generated by the phytotoxins and defense chemicals commonly found in veggies. This hormetic response is basically net zero and not worth it at all.

The only reason you might live a longer amount of time on a plant-based diet is because all of your anabolic and hormonal pathways become depressed. Enjoy the longer lifespan… with garbage energy levels, libido, skin/hair, all the while slowly falling apart at the cellular level due to net catabolism.

Milk has 5g of sugar per 100ml though. And 3g of protein.

Milk has more sugar than protein

Milk

I've never had energy problems on zero carbs and in fact my natty PRs were all set on carnivore. I think a lot of people especially younger people who try zero carb or carnivore probably do a shit version of it to save money, like with lots of whey protein and crap like that instead of meat and eggs. To eat enough animal food to gain mass - say 3000 calories - is a lot of food and it's going to be way more satiating than eating 5000 calories of pasta and oats. It's not cheap either. When I set my natty PRs I was eating about a kilo of meat every day, 12-15 whole eggs, and a ton of dairy mainly raw cheeses. I was stronger and looked better than when I was eating a typical bro diet with rice/oats/beans and crap like that.

People who think you need carbs to gain muscle/strength just don't know wtf they are talking about. There isn't even a mechanism by which carbs would be essential for gains. Insulin spike anabolism supposedly, when protein is also insulinogenic and far more anabolic.

I don’t indulge in any powder supplements. Instead what i’ll do is eat alot of eggs . Cheap source of protein and has lots of fats . I’ll be on zero carbs all day but right before my workout i’ll have a small carb with some milk .

my grandpa ate 3 loafs of bread everyday and never got fat, he was skinny shredded
carbs dont make you fat, added sugar does
