mse + chewing widens the IPD (upper maxilla)

to try and widen my ipd slightly.

according to the information there all that is necessary to widen the ipd is to chew often and hard while palatal sutures are open, so i am hoping that because of my age (15 rn) they are open and i will be able to do this without mse.

how do i know, and how likely is it that they are open at 15?

I think it could widen and If you're not chewing something super hard chew longer but do it progressively.

it explains that if your palatal sutures are open, chewing (with any teeth, just chewing in general) can cause upper maxillary expansion, which will widen your ipd. the mse itself will barely widen ipd so this is a much better way to do it

that’s pretty good tbh, a 1-2mm expansion would barely affect my face and iirc that would give me 2-3 months of time to increase my ipd

Depends on how old you are because of how looser your sutures are when younger so less turns the younger you are and 1 mm is like 8 turns on the device
