How to take compliments?

Often when i get complimented by girls, especially over text and even more on dating apps, where i dont know the girl. I often feel like they dont really mean it, and I also think they dont really, as it is just to keep the conversation going. I know some of you guys also have tried this feeling, because it probably stems from insecurity.

But how should you honestly respond to a compliment without seeming like an insecure sperg, that isnt used to getting compliments.
I also think responding properly with abundance attitude is the best, because of pre selection theory.
