I don’t get why people think 2 sets to failure is some holy grail for gains

It’s comical how much inflation influence TikTok and misinformation have on retarded people. It’s like they treat 2 sets to failure as something so objective and always talm bout some “just do 2 sets to failure bro!” Like there isn’t better options

I’m not saying 2 sets to failure is bad but jeez have some critical thinking, you don’t need to do 2 sets for each exercise for muh maximal gains

Any decent intensity + decent volume training works well, just like 2 sets to failure can still work very well too. But it is not necessarily "better" unless some guy uses very high volume to cope for trash form not taxing his muscles to begin with. I also kinda do that shit these days but I did it LONG before it was cool lol, I also switched to higher reps on most stuff, don't even like low reps anymore and not going to failure except heavy compounds or hard exercises like dips/pull-ups/deadlifts where I am too weak to do high reps. 😃

But yeah there is always some fitness overhype, just remember how much people spammed cringe lifts like seal row and "Larsen press" a couple - few years ago, when seal row is just a chest-supported row variation and Larsen press was a troll bench press with legs on the bench, like it makes any difference. Also like guys doing incline bench press only and totally neglecting their lower chest thinking this will give them sick upper pecs like gifted upper pecs genetics guys on roids have lmfao.. then totally missing out on building a max low chest which still is 80-90% of what makes "nice pecs" and overall mogs and shows in clothes. (When girls look at your chest in clothes it is the lower pecs that impresses them not upper pecs(almost invisible in clothing)). Not training lower chest to max potential is actually looksmin or "looksinferior" as fuck.

And yeah people always want to cope with "secrets" to sick natty gains when anything decent program-wise works already almost the same and the only real true secret to huge gains are roids, lol.

I could never do 1 set just to 0 RIR, I can always do a set afterwards but that's just me.

I just do 2x failure because it's time saving and feels enough.
