Video games worked as a cope during my teen and early adult years, but now that I'm in my 30s there is just nothing novel or interesting about games anymore. I just can't bring myself to give a shit. There's nothing new happening, no new interesting games or genres or concepts, it's all just re-hashed bullshit and remakes and remasters or whatever the fuck. I've experienced everything there is to experience. 90% of my gaming time is now spent on downloading mods for better games from 20-30 years ago. I'd unironically rather just go replay the original Quake with mods than whatever woke garbage is coming out now.

Maybe AI NPCs will make future rpg games more interesting, but I doubt it because it will all be censored and boring af so that the AI npcs don't offend the snowflakes jfl.

I still play games and I dislike this general idea of "muh woke, muh, games were better back in the days" (first of all, the gaming industry is progressive since it's earliest days, take NES's Metroid back in the 80's, having a female main character, Samus Aran, that was only revealed in the credits was a woke thing back then... same for Resident Evil where the female characters are bad ass and not the fragile princess types, and also where the villains have nazi-like intentions: creating a master race and such, you can't be more woke than that, the thing is.... what was woke yesterday is not seen as woke now, since woke culture has evolved...)...

.. but I admit that my dopamine receptors are burned and I can't focuse on just one game for a long time, that's why I'm having a hard time finishing Haunting Ground (started playing last year, 2023), not because the game is bad (nope, it's great), but because my brain is not the same as it was in my teens, and also because with the excess of information we have nowadays makes it harder to focuse on just one thing.

ill explain as you get older you have more responsibilty and stress, games become less fun because you view and observe the world as a older adult with experience. Nothing will ever give you the high of playing games as a kid for the first time or for the first few years. What hapeens is you need a new HIGH as years go by, sadly the gaming industry is worst is trash remakes. Mainly because before games where about fun and the enjoyments now companies go mainly for profits, so they lisent to the top 1-3 percent of streamers/players hwo play 13-16 a hours a day or to casuals and ruin the games.


Back then years ago gaming companies didn't give a fhk about the community input not nearly as much. So then you have the real long-time gamers lose interest, but then they play less and turn off the games. Games have gotten worse over the years. What did the gaming companies do, jagex on purpose hid the links to runescape classics at the bottom of the page and removed the ads on the main page so players would go to runescape 2. Then they did some bs by saying for two weeks you can join runescape classics but only if your a member or if you played years ago prior, which is stupid because they have a f2p version on oldschool runescape and runescape 3. Then said see no one wants to play and closed the game.


In wow classics wotlk they had no dungeon finder saying it would ruin the experience, and decided to lisent to neck beards who play the game 13-16 hours a day with stained cheetos shirts. So for 75 percent of wotlk classics run no dungeon finder. Then the idiots literally destroy the game and end their most popular expansion ever, and say you have to move on to wow cata classics
Even more funny the idiots are to stupid to put random dungeon finder in the wow vanilla classics, so now you only have a total of like 12 thousand people playing the across all like 18 servers.

Have you tried Deus Ex Human Revolution. Gameplay could improve, but story is excellent if you like Cyberpunk genre.

It's funny how I'd play crash bandicoot for hours yet when they remade it, it just wasn't as fun as the first time round. This is also the case with many games. They need to constantly modify it. FFVIII rebirth/remake was good but if this game came out today and not nearly 30 years ago it wouldn't have had the same legendary reputation.
