So I haven't held a valid driver's license here in the U.S. since my last one expired in 2012. To acquire another license I must take the written test, as well as the road test, all over again. Yesterday I went to the DMV to take the written test, and I failed by four points.
A lot of the questions were bullsh*t, and had nothing to do with safely operating a vehicle. A lot of them had to do with the penalties for being caught while driving under the influence.
Here are a couple examples:
"If you're over the age of 21 and are charged with a DUI for the first time how much will you be fined, and for how long will you lose your license?"
"If you're charged with driving under the influence for more than three times in three years how long will you be required to have a personal breathalyzer fitted to your vehicle?"
This really pissed me off. I haven't lived in this country for years, and am not familiar with it's stupid f*cking laws concerning DUIs. And even if I was, would it matter? Would it make any difference? Now I'm either gonna break the law or I'm not. Knowing the penalties for being caught doing so isn't gonna have any bearing on how anyone conducts themselves on the road. I don't even drink.
Anyways, I gotta wait a whole week before I can take this stupid test again. They gave me some bullsh*t manual to study, but luckily it turns out I can just directly get the f*cking answers verbatim off of youtube. Thanks Youtube.
It's give and take here in America. We got things like youtube and google to help us get through bullsh*t like this. However, in this instance, I prefer China's method of dealing with this kind of thing. "Here you go instructor. Here's $100 to say I took your stupid f*cking test, and got all the answers right. Thanks for the license."
