Whats up guys, below is my current hair transplant result followed by another hair transplant I've got. I've gotten one in October of 2021 to lower my hairline to a Norwood 1. Both of my hair transplants were the FUT method because I knew i was going to get a second one in the future to drop it more lower and because I want to maximize as many grafts I can use. I then got greedy and decided to drop my hairline to a more Juvenile style. Pain is 7/10 on the day of surgery after the pain killers wear off, but is a 2-3/10 the next day. It's not a comfortable surgery so don't listen to people who say FUT is painless. But, either is being bald. Total of 3100 grafts to go from my initial baldness to the current 2 hair transplant state of recovery. I've had the procedure a month ago and all of the transplant hair has fallen off and the native hair is growing back after being shaved. By about 3-4 months is when it really starts to grow.

I got my Hair transplant from a well known doctor in Long Island, They're very expensive, but I was very happy with my first hair transplant and didn't want to go else where. He also got me in within weeks of short notice as someone cancelled.

Below are my photos of hair transplant.

Why FUT instead of FUE? I've gotten an FUE and need to get a second one for a full density hairline. Did you go to Dr. F & B?

Nice, was it not possible to achieve the second result in one go? Or you just weren't thinking about it.

Could you kindly check my hairline in this thread? I'd hate to know that I'm norwooding at age 17:

I went to F and B correct! I did an FUT because I wanted to minimize as much potential graft loss and the FUT has a higher growth rate. Also, because the doctors I picked did mostly FUT but they didn't push it, they explained to me why it's still the gold standard.

looks good so far.

I can't see your hairline well because of the black paint you did to hide your identity, and the hair is covering your hairline being pushed over. From what i see, judging from the angle, your temple point that is visible, your eyes and where your eye brows start from and I think the middle top of your forehead. You have a mature hairline for a 17 year old. You're not balding concurrently from what I see and it looks good. But if you are really worried you can start rogaine now or finasteride if a doctor will even give it you at such a young age.

It was possible to do it in one go, but at the time i was 22 half when I got my first hair transplant so the doctor didn't want to go too aggressive. He agreed if after 1 year half to 2 if I stabalize and don't lose ground he would feel more comfortable going lower. The second one however, he pretty much let me go super aggressive and let me know, this is the lowest he's let anyone go on hairlines. My eye brow to hairline is 5 cm in distance between from side of eye brow all the way to middle.

My first hairline was more natural and mature for my age and alot of people share the same opinion as you on that. But I've always wanted a super flat hairline.

As long as you prefer it definitely go for it. Not like you can change it now anyways.

How did you find a surgeon willing to give you an "unnatural" hairline?

I actually spent half a year vetting doctors. He was the only one who seemed the most caring, knowledgable and wasn't trying to push anything on me. He also he really good results, but his wait time (1 year typically) for surgery is what made me little concerned, but by the luck of the draw, someone canceled first surgery 2 months and i got in, and same with this one. He also knows I'm on oral minoxidil, finasteride, keto shampo 2 times a week and follow a hair care regimen.

Can you send me a private dm with you pulling your hair back. and you can block your face or identity in any way shape or form you'd like. The hairline is still hidden. But from seeing this, You hairline is completely fine. seem as if the eyebrow to hairline distance is around 6.5-7cm judging on this photo compared to others I've seen before which is a mature hairline. You have good lush hair.

I would hate to bother you that much, and it's quite late here too. You've done more than enough, and that is dispelling my fear of norwooding. Thank you and goodnight.

Great result. I'm around a similar norwood and looking for a similar result.
How old are you and how aggressive is your recession?

Also what is your hair shaft thickness? Fine? Medium? Or thick?

I'm currently 24, my recession is odd. At around 18 i had a norwood 1.5? and i had that till 22 where it seemed to creep to a 2-2.5. Since starting fin, rogaine 2 years ago and the hair transplants my hair is incredibly thick and has halted the hair loss for the moment.

My hair shaft thickness according to the doctor was medium. It's not thick but not thin. But I would say thin to thick. Hence why my first hair transplant looks really good, because of my hair thickness.

Has you first transplant receded at all?
My first hair transplant has not receded at all. I'm taking oral minoxidil 1.25 mg daily and 1 mg of finasteride. These will be taken for the rest of my life.

I'm on Fin/Oral min. Dr. Bloxham didn't mention anything like that. He wasn't big into the oral minoxidil either. He's very particular in what he stands behind, and it needs alot of clinical data and trials before he even considers it. Finasteride and topical minoxidil for example. But Oral min is something he's not totally convinved about. Thanks brother.

When doing a FUT the hair follicles have a much higher survival rate compared to FUE. FUE, they machine punch the hair out, then tug at the hair graft, and then they're trimmed with the techs. With FUT the scalp is cut, and the hair is trimmed which leads to a much higher survival rate. Less trauma to the grafts. Also you can only take so much grafts using the FUE before it thins the back of your head, typically 3-4 is that max, While fut is around 6-8k before it starts becoming noticable. I've had 3100 grafts taken from the back of my scalp and you can't tell. On top of this, the surgery is quicker, as the longer the grafts are out of the body, the less chance of survival.

Please check the updated Imgur, I submitted a photo showing my donor region. Keep in mind, the doctor told me I have around 4k grafts left to harvest after my last procedure. You can see it's hard to notice any hair thinning let alone any procedure using fut.

Hey man, good to know about you!
Tbh with you, I like your hairline after your first transplant, it looked very proportional to your face IMO, but also I can see why you would want a Sterling Archer type hairline, done well the facial framing improves and gives you the chance of rocking more hairstyles.

I've read many posts on HRN from Bloxham and seen plenty of his work, no doubt you chose a top doctor. If he agreed to do it, then it has to be an improvement. Hope you get 100% growth, best luck!

Just out of curiosity, when you say your hairline height is 5 cm, is the measurement done like this picture (to the middle of the eyebrows?) Also what's your midface lenght if you don't mind to tell (measured like the picture too).

Mine is 5.9 cm and midface 6.3 cm, just temple less so it looks like a high hairline lmao

I see, it's pretty interesting. I was also thinking whether it's enough to do what you have on the first pic or have more ideal low square hairline. And the main argument against is that I have the forehead covered by hair anyway.

Was your hairline always high or did it receded? what I mean is: is your after picture how your hairline was originally?

hey check out my thread linked in the sig to get to know more detail, there is a bit of a debate going..

generally speakinh though

After speaking with Dr. Konior and Dr. Nadimi this weekend, Dr. Konior mentioned a study conducted by Dr. Ron Shapiro, an elite surgeon who actually kick started this community by performing surgery on @Pat - Community Publisher the study concludes that patients who start off with FUT first and combine FUE get more lifetime grafts than either technique alone. I thought it was pretty interesting, especially for those interested in maximizing donor supply. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork....de-by-side-study-fut-and-fue-lifetime-grafts/

thanks for the info man

itt its said bloxham wants to do some small trials with verteporfin

verteporfin prevents scaring so it might be that he can do scareless fut in the future

its pretty wild but who knows. too many disappointments with new meds so far.

i think you did a good decision. the result will be killer

Long time no see brother. Yes from the top of the eye brow to the start of the hairline. Mine is 5 CM which is as low as you can go before becoming uncanny. Our faves are structured different so hairlines can look high and low even if it’s well within the 5-8cm distance category.

I mostly did this surgery as a flat boxed hairline makes you look more youthful and attractive with the multitude of hair styles you can pull off. Plus, perfect hair signals being “healthy, young, and attractive” according to this study.

I had no idea wow. I’d be super intrigued to be his first study patient tbh. Thanks for that link interesting read. This hair transplant will look good I’m sure, and I will keep everyone updated on it and if anyone has questions I’d like to help them as well.

Was your hairline always high or did it receded? what I mean is: is your after picture how your hairline was originally?
My hairline was always high. But when it started to recede it made it much more dramatic. The first picture you see is original. Second several is after result from my first and the last several is my current second hair transplant.

That's quite true, a proper hairline with good temples and no recession is an improvement because it makes possible to style the hair in many ways that would be unflattering with a worse hairline, and it also signals youth and virility. As long as it is proportional to the rest of your face, it will be an improvement for sure. I know this well because I have good hairline height but no temples, so I have to cope with curtains and similar hairstyles to look my best.
You have very good donor hair and chose a great doctor, the outcome should be great :chad: .

I’m turning 25 in July. I decided to get it now. Why wait. And yes you should wait generally speaking but that’s at the discretion of the doctor and patient. I want to look good in my prime atm

The scar is essentially nonexistant if done by a good surgeon/practice

You can also do SMP! If the scar does stretch. My first HT scar is about 1.2mm thick which isn’t too bad.

My first hair transplant has not receded at all. I'm taking oral minoxidil 1.25 mg daily and 1 mg of finasteride. These will be taken for the rest of my life.
What about when you plan to procreate?
Wouldn’t take the risk with fin tbh, I’ll likely use copper AHK + RU (maybe, I’ll see, my worst nightmare would be the kid coming in to contact with RU).
For a few years this would be extremely effective.
From what I’ve seen, AHK is legit gold for hair.

How much donor do you have left? Do you think it will be hard to maintain that insane hairline now?
