So, I have been using Oral Minoxidil (Topical minoxidil taken orally, I have a guide on why it’s safe to to) for 1.5years (since may 2023).

I quit my usage 3 weeks ago now.
I was using 5mg a day.
Here is experience so far:

Why did I stop Minoxidil?
Looking back at older pictures, I noticed I was significantly less bloated facially (almost not bloated at all) even though I was higher body fat back then, and indulging in goyslop and high carb foods regularly. When I was on Minoxidil, bloat was significantly higher in my personal experience. The bloating has since gone away I am pretty sure.

I also did notice my skin had more youthful appearance. Obviously many people talk about collagen and what effect Minoxidil has on it, some say the actual Minoxidil reduces
collagen, some say it’s just the alcohol when applied topically. Anecdotally, my skin does look better now after quitting Minoxidil. I didn’t use skincare on Minoxidil, and am currently not using any skin care. (Though this year I am about to start using Tazarotene for my 2025 looksmaxing).

I noticed @Amnesia said that when he quit minoxidil, he experienced better libido and better erections also. Come to think of it, I have experienced the same thing also. Higher frequency and stronger erections.

I did not notice any heart problems or cardiovascular issues what so ever.

Did my eyebrows and eyelashes remain after quitting? (so far)
It’s only been 3 weeks, but i have noticed that eyebrows are significantly less than when i was on Minoxidil already. I anticipate they will continue like this and return to how they were originally (before even taking Minoxidil).

As for eyelashes, I am not experiencing much loss yet there, but i think these will also completely fall in a few weeks also to how they were before minoxidil. They do seem a bit less prominent currently.

Why i dont think they are permanent. (and why beard is permanent)
Minoxidil boosts the blood supply to hair. People say; “if your on it for long enough the eyebrows and lashes will become terminal hairs”
this is wrong i’m pretty sure. Your eyebrows and eyelashes are already terminal. Any extra growth you are seeing is purely due to increased blood supply to the area. Once you discontinue usage, and the blood supply returns to normal, the hairs will fall back to how they were before. They cannot become terminal hairs, since they are already terminal.

This is unlike beard, where many take the Minoxidil when their beard is still full of vellus hairs. The Minoxidil boosts the blood supply to the beard hairs and allows them to grow. Since these hairs were not terminal before, Minoxidil gives them a sort of extra boost to become terminal. This is why people who discontinue minoxidil after using it for their beard likely keep the beard results.

TLDR
Minoxidil helps make vellus hairs terminal in the case of the beard through extra blood supply, allowing the vellus beard hairs by become terminal. In the case of eyelashes and eyebrows you are simply boosting the growth of already terminal hairs, so when you quit, and return blood supply back to normal, the extra growth will fall out.

i agree with your terminal vellus theory
it explains why my eyelashes stayed long after quitting minoxidil

do you plan on using?

eye lashes and hairline were the main reason. however since starting dut and planning on hair transplant, i have no reason to continue minox.

topical still can cause bloating. causes people purple under eyes sometimes.
topical application still goes systemic somewhat, u can’t avoid that.

i’ll rape your collagen from the alcohol if there is in it (idk since i never used foam)

r u concerned about sides? which one has worse sides?
no, sides form 5ar inhibitors are less pronounced anyway if u inject test (im about to blast 600mg then cruise)

only 1% actually get sides.

It’s sort of right. I think they would go terminal, but it would take longer than what you’ve been on it for. Minox has more powerful mechanisms than just the increased blood flow anyway

Hey bro does oral minox do either of these two things ?
1) facial bloat
2) decrease collagen synthesis

my point is tho, is that the brows are already terminal. you can’t make an already terminal hair turn terminal. if u know what i mean. i’m not too educated on the other mechanisms tho

They aren’t terminal. It’s the exact same growth cycle as the eyelashes, the hairs eventually shed and then start growing again.

before minox, the eyelashes and eyebrows are already terminal no? otherwise you’d have no or very very faint brows.

does it not have more side effects with that much of an increase? what do studies say
only very few people experience sides and half of the ones that say they do don’t actually. they just think they do from eveyone fearmongering it and reading too much about side effects where they basically give themselves the sides

Yeah my bad they are terminal. I guess it’s with minox you are prolonging the growth phase and decreasing the resting phase. So it’s just continuously in the growth phase and when you stop it’ll return to the normal growth cycle.

yes, this is what i’m thinking also. prolonged growth cycle and more blood = longer lashes and brows

discontinue and u return to original cycle and original blood flow so eyebrows and lashes return to pre minox state.

makes sense.

descend eye area or be less bloated?
ascends since my previous brows harmonise better

i can just dye lashes

it’s ideal since no bloat also

about hair loss i would suggest trying ru58841 with minox first. fin/dut persistent side effects stories are real but uncommon

сan topical minoxidil be used on eyelashes? or it will damage eyes and eye collagen as you have said?

and if I will use topical minoxidil on my eyebrows and under it will it destroy my collagen in eye area and eyelid?

applying on eyebrows would grow eyelashes regardless since the minox goes systematic to some extent anyway.

could give you fucked up under eyes, yes.

So funny when people still think that minoxidil works by increasing blood supply. Why don't other blood pressure medications help with hair growth? They increase blood supply also. We simply don't know the underlying mechanism.
