I think that a lot of religious people are "religious" just because they find their holy book law/rules system convenient

More than true belief. Sure its a coincidence islam happens to be sooo prevalent among blackpill/incel communities, when islam is famously known for hampering women's rights and putting men on power and regulating sexual selection and yadda yadda. Also I tend to see that happier/more fulfilled people tend to believe in spirituality in more of a "new age" way while blackpilled people, incels, or generally manosphere communities are either atheist or follow abrahamanic monotheistic religions specially islam, which strict rulesets regarding sexuality and the other fields in life they are not happy with.

So, unless im wrong, lots of people don't believe in Islam, they just want Sharia. And follow a religion more out of spite than inspiration. I saw this irl too not only on online forums.

Watch this and it's 100% true

Well, believing in the rules of a faith, when you know it's from God, is more because you follow those FOR GOD than for the consequentialism - the fact that they are better for everyone factually - of it.
It's just so happen that one faith is the most rational in all regard and make actual sense, while beeing also the most consequentialism one : No alienation, no depression, no addiction allowed, forbidden of alchohol and every looksmin drugs too.
The ability to get actually a genuine pious virgin that will not divorce cuck you, and will love you for you but also and mainly for the sake of God. etc.

I think that the bolded part is the main focus of lots of people and what I am talking about. I knew religious people of both types both actual believers and people who just found those rules convenient and the latter seems to be more common.

It's always more common people that follow things for their own benefit. It's just so happen that they don't see that the set of belief actually is what would benefit them more, than mere materiality in which indeed they'r more winning than your average "individualist" that has no hope to find such woman.

My main problem with religion is that it provides copes such as charity instead of encouraging people to act in the world to bring about justice

Don't see how it's the case. But we probably don't follow the same position. Charity is an obligation, but that's not the sole. Changing yourself is the most real thing to do at first.

If you feel good when u do something good for others, and feel bad or guilty when u hurt others, you are a believer

I broadly share Marx’s view of religion and I am much more political and world-oriented than spiritual, but I do respect religion, especially the way it nourishes people psychologically and brings communities together
