i tried dutasteride for like 11 months but had to stop due to the mental side effects i was hoping it was placebo or some shit but i had like elevated libido for 6 months and after that i just went mute for the remaining 5 months

i only see this happening to finasteride users that switch on to dutasteride i tried giving it time but that shit was like brutal and this isn't to scare people off from taking it

Isotretinoin doesn't block DHT in the way that Dutastride does, isotretinoin does not reduce DHT levels in men,
(https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamadermatology/fullarticle/vol/124/pg/540)

in women possibly, because they have lower T and rely more on peripheral DHT production.

RAR agonism triggers sebocyte apoptosis while 5ARIs do not.

I agree that DHT betters your skin but it doesn't work in the same way as iso.

yes after stopping was back to normal in like a month its really hard to tell mental side effects of any drug/steroid but only 2 supplements really like turned a switch off that was probiotics and dutasteride for me, never had a shed on finasteride or dutasteride but my hairline was never really bad just wanted the skin and preventative benefits

also note i was taking dim before i took dutasteride

yes i did experience this but note i was taking like finasteride and dutasteride at the same time and i felt amazing until i switched only to dutasteride after a while i thought it would be fine cause it takes a while for dutasteride to work. and my blood test and hormonal panel showed up perfectly fine

so it went like this

1 month in
finasteride every day 1 month dutasteride once a week

3 months
finasteride every dday dutasteride twice a week

6 months i drop finasteride and take dutasteride every other day 0.5mg

side effects start coming in by 9 months in have a blood test/hormonal panel

by 11 months i quit

if your 2 years in on dutasteride you should be chilling tho

academic.oup article-abstract/80/4/1158/2649993

this oxford academic study says otherwise but the testing people count is lower but it's from oxford academic soo 🤔.

will have to look into it.

but the point still stands that RAR agonism does it through another mechanism
