We conclude that MK-4 present in food does not contribute to the vitamin K status as measured by serum vitamin K levels. MK-7, however significantly increases serum MK-7 levels and therefore may be of particular importance for extrahepatic tissues.

Considering that MK-4 derives from the endogenous conversion of phylloquinone, the specific tissue distribution of MK-4 is suggestive of local synthesis from phylloquinone. MK-4 is synthetized in testes, pancreas and blood vessels. In particular, the conversion of phylloquinone into MK-4 occurs either directly or by interconversion to menadione (K3), followed by prenylation to MK-4 [21]. Therefore, the biological activity of K3 is entirely dependent on its prenylation to MK-4.

Mk-4 is deposited where it needs to be and works just fine if taken daily. This is a marketing gimmick to sell MK7 just because the serum levels drop fast with MK4.

totally wrong,mk4 is the more natural form and its not in blood as it quickly moves into bones and has a shorter half life

Not much in some people. I would assume most people not getting much K2 in their diet or from a supplement are a at least a little deficient.
