I wanted to share a study I found on the subject of No-Fap. I've been a regular masturbator for a few years now (every day to every other day). I've taken 3-6 month cycles off, but didn't notice much difference between No-Fap and regular fapping, so I kept going. I'm going to change this up and see how it affects my performance both in the gym, and during my day to day life.

In a randomized controlled trial, 28 volunteers had their serum testosterone (the test levels in their blood) examined daily following a singular ejaculation. 2-5 days after their ejaculation, not much changed. On the 7th day however, their testosterone levels spiked to 150% above baseline (after ejaculation), but didn't increase much in the time following.

Practical Application
-When having sex/fapping, wait at least 7 days between each session. There is evidence that abstaining from ejaculation for long periods of time does lower serum testosterone, so you don't want to wait too long.
-Keep in mind that this is just one study, so the results are by no means definitive. If you notice any adverse side effects, or your quality of life decreases, feel free to experiment with other options, such as fapping more often, or abstaining for longer periods of time.

I've heard/read about this before but muy doubt Is... Means that you get a testoterone Boost only if you cum ONCE or the whole day no matter how many times you hace sex/fap ?

That's a great question. In theory, it shouldn't matter very much. From what I understand, there haven't been any studies on this subject, so I don't think anyone short of an endocrinologist could say that for sure.

IMO this wouldn't work, your body would adjust over a few weeks. I think the season for the spike in those studies is because those people are used to jerking off daily and then they all the sudden stop cold turkey and their body is confused for a bit before stabilizing. If you jerked off once a week I highly doubt you would experience that same spike week after week.

I agree that's a possible limitation of the study. For our purposes though, there seems to be enough evidence that jerking off with a high frequency (less than once a week) isn't optimal. Beyond that, we really can't say much else.

Honestly?

It's all in the head
Masturbated for years on end without any effects apart from sleepiness (which is normal, caused by hormonal releases) No discernible difference in mood, behavior, mental clarity etc....

Once I started getting into NoFap and learning the negative consequences of porn I started feeling like shit every time I finished. I wonder why?

This is true. It helps to be super busy so you don't have much time to jerk off

Because it's all in your mind. I felt the same. Placebo is really strong
I also know a way but you need a needle

so as long as you don't retain semen over 7 days correct? that's what i've been telling people
The study is really small and shitty. I wish there was a more extensive study done.
Lesfapping has some real benefis, but I would fap once every 8 days just to render the increased testosterone on the 7th day.

Sounds like a plan. Thank you for the info. And yes you could write to the authors asking for a larger more in depth front

I actually miswrote that. I meant to say:
I would NOT fap once every 8 days just to render the increased testosterone on the 7th day.

Nofap is a waste of time. Some guys have sex 2 times a day. You think their divk can tell the difference between pussy and hand

The body is so complex dude. It can tell when touching a human vs a hand jfl. Oxytocin, dopamine, etc are released during sex and actually boosts T whereas fapping actually creates an imbalance between T and estrogen

No, because the 7th day is when your testoterone is boosted (according to this small, sub-optimal study).
Fap on the 8th.

Or even better: ignore this small study and fap whenever you want, but not too much.

For a short period of time, your testosterone peaks. People anecodotally report that the 7th and 8th days are productive for them, due to more drive and energy.

eh it all runs together for me. i will try to do that but i honestly could give a fuck about some negligible amount of test from not fapping/fapping on certain days

No I mean what are the pros of high T? Especially if you’re past 18.

For that, you'll need to talk with someone who's taken exogenous testosterone. @Intel.Imperitive

The spike only lasts arround 2 days then wears off back to normal

Another bogus kosher study why don’t you try it for yourself and report back dumbass
