Last March, I made a "how alpha are you" quiz website called Man-O-Meter. It's satire of toxic masculinity and a humorous exaggeration of the way men are treated in real life.
Users answer a series of survey-style questions and see their manliness meter update as they go. At the end of the quiz, they get a result like this:
The lowest category on the manliness scale was originally "faggot," but I changed it to "loser" before I posted the site on Reddit.
That was in late March 2020.
In June, the site got a sudden spike in views.
The views weren't from Reddit:
I thought it could've been shared on social media, but I didn't find any pages with links to my site on them when I Googled "manometer.ml" (the site's domain)
Of all the places in the world where the traffic could come from, most of it was from Brazil:
The site still has traffic today:
And Brazil still accounts for almost all the traffic:
I'm like "bruh, who's still going on this shit?"
It's cool that it's still getting views, but I just have no clue how people even find that site. Maybe it's all a bunch of bots jfl
----------
UPDATE: I recorded visitor's sessions with HotJar, and people in Brazil are actually using the site, like right now.
HOW?!?!? It's been more than 9 months since I created the site.
There's no way people are still on that shit man. They gotta be AIs emulating human mouse movements bro
