Yeah in fact you can trade WITH the big players rather than against them. For example, I trade microcaps, and a particular genre of these stocks (china microcaps) are rigged in my favor as they are heavily manipulated to extract money from short sellers meaning the price is deliberately and often illegally pushed to extreme levels. That benefits people who long the microcap, including me .

oh that's nothing compared to true china microcaps
this week i took trades both days on $RETO (brand new china scam stock). 1st day there was like 20 halts and i sold for over +1000% realized. 2nd day i took during premarket for the nice bounce off of 3$ key level and sold for nearly +400% realized. just 1 huge gap up halt in day 2 though
