The stereotype of ancient peoples from Germany and Scandinavia is that they were strong and powerful, think of Vikings for example.
Quote from Roman historian Tacitus about the Germans:
I saw another quote from an ancient Arabian Historian that went something like "their physiques are some of the most powerful I have seen in my travels" but I couldn't find it.
This idea is further perpetuated by Strongman almost all of the top competitors are from Northern Europe.
But at the same time, in my personal experience Northern Europeans are really skinny. Average male is a tall lanklet.
Perhaps they were only stronger than other peoples in ancient times because they had a higher protein intake and had harsher lives.
Thoughts?
