Is Proviron better at keeping E2 levels in check than AIs?

Title. Aromasin rapes hair follicles because its 17-hydroxylated metabolite exhibits very strong androgenic activity and anastrozole and letrozole are strong and reversible AIs. When it comes to Proviron tho, I have the impression it can be used to control E2 without significant sides since its effect on aromatase is mild and the only real increase in androgenic activity happens through its effect on SHBG.

Only significant side effect crossing my mind really is AGA induced by the soaring free androgens, but even that could be neutralized by dut, minox and ru/pyrilutamide. Proviron is such a mild steroid it doesn't even shut down endogenous T when below 75mg a day solo jfl

@Clavicular @Dyorotic what are your views on the matter?

provrion lowers e2, its not better at AIs though. Dht is a very good estrogen antiagonizer, this is why some people get side effects on finasterde.

Proviron is a DHT-based steroid its effects on AGA cannot be mitigated if you have the gene. If you have the gene I would not run it.

Dutasteride/finasteride will not work against proviron. Dut/fin prevents the conversion of testosterone into dht but when you are taking Proviron you are already putting a dht derived compound in your blood stream there is no need for conversion.

Think of it like administering pure dht, dut wont work at all because it is not a DHT blocker it is a 5ar enzyme inhibitor.

RU in theory could work by binding to the androgen receptor in the scalp not letting any of that proviron bind to the follicle, but I doubt its 100% effective. If you have hairloss in your family the bets thing to run is just test and dutasteride.

Brother, with all due respect the arguments you've presented make no sense.

Proviron is a DHT derivative, meaning it's chemical structure is similar to that of DHT. This doesn't make them the exact same thing, let alone mean they have the exact same androgenic potency, which is what dictates any androgen's direct effect on hair follicles.

Anavar, for instance, is a DHT derivative but it's androgenicity is so low it's considered one of the most hair-safe steroids on the market, making it specially suitable for clinical and recreational use in women.

Proviron's androgenic profile is very low, just like that of Anavar. It can indirectly harm hair follicles by increasing the levels of circulating androgens thanks to its immense binding affinity to SHBG, but if one uses Dutasteride to stop the conversion of Testosterone into DHT and RU or Pyrilutamide to stop any remaining androgens in the scalp from binding to ARs, hair loss would not happen.

Exactly. Its chemical structure is similar to DHT, and it binds to the androgen receptors in the hair follicle and destroys them the same way that DHT does.

Proviron and anavar have less binding affinity to the androgen receptor however it still can bind and depending on your genetic sensitivity you will lose hair without even considering the other androgen types in your body.

When considering its binding affinity to SHBG, which causes higher levels of androgens, dutasteride may help stop convert the extra testosterone to DHT. However, you still have more of a DHT-based molecule in your blood that is able to bind to the follicle.
