Is the measure of success in one's life pre-determined?

Generic example: if I was destined to be a fisherman, no matter what I do in life I will end up as a fisherman because it was destined for me.
In terms of sexual relations, if my genetics destined me to be good looking and tall, no matter what I do in life (eat junk, sleep late, non NT, lazy) I will always end up good looking and tall sooner or later in my life because its what my genetics destined me for.
Vice, versa if my genetics determined me to be short and ugly, no matter what I do in life (exercise, sleep early, active, NT) I will always end up short and ugly because its what my genetics destined me for.

Is there a specific word or phrase to describe this sort of thing?

A determinalist I think it is called, my therapist told me. I think is all predetermined, if you are born with shit neurotransmitters then it is over.
