Joker 2 is an metafiction that exposes normies that were virtue signaling praising the first movie because it spreads mental health awareness.
Meanwhile real life mentally ill people get shuned and made fun off by those same people.
The real reason normies like the first movie is because Arthur becomes dark triad, which fascinates normies.
Lady gaga character can be viewed as a stand-in for audiences who were fans of the first film, with her comments about becoming obsessed with Joker after having seen a TV movie based on his life. She represents an affluent fan who desires the anarchy and exotic thrill Joker represents, and like the audience, is upset and disappointed when Arthur fails to live up to his Joker identity.
When the dwarf enters the courtroom, the same people that support Joker in the courtroom make fun of the dwarf. This is an intellegent callback to that scene in the first movie where normies are made to symphatize with Arthur but are tricked into laughing about the dwarf not being able to open the door by himself.
In the end Arthur gets killed by the real joker who is a complete psychopath like the character is supposed to be and not someone like Arthur who is a mentally ill loser who lives and dies like a mentally ill loser killing the fantasy of the first movie.
Ultimately the metafiction reflects Arthur's characterization; just as his society only cares for him for what he represents as the Joker and rejects him when he renounces that persona, so does the audience reject Arthur and the movie.
The director/script writers knew the movie was going to be a flop.
