Anyone ever had this? I've heard of sleep paralysis before, but had never experienced it.
last night I had what I believe was sleep paralysis. the whole night was kinda weird. I went to bed at around 11pm. I woke up pretty startled at midnight, and I had a real eerie feeling as soon as I opened my eyes. I felt as if there was someone outside of my house by my bedroom. after making sure all the doors and windows on my house were locked, I figured it was ok to go back to sleep.

after going back to sleep or a little while, I suddenly woke up. a lot of people described sleep paralysis as not being able to move, but I felt as if I was being physically pushed down into my bed. I couldn't move my arms or legs, and the more I tried to struggle, the further down I got pushed. I sleep in complete darkness in my room, so it is hard to see in there, but there was a dark silhouette in the corner of my room. I know everyones eyes can play tricks on them after just waking up, but im telling you guys, I saw this figure. the strangest thing was the sound. it was a faint yell that was somehow loud as well. the whole time it went on, I kept trying to get my bearings. I really wanted to look at the clock to see what time it was, but like I said my arms were pinned.

I was sleeping but it was like half-asleep, and my bedroom door was open. I saw a shadow slowly approaching me, but I couldn't move. Damn, it was fukin terrifying.

Sleep paralysis

The fundamental symptom of sleep paralysis is atonia or the inability to move the body. It occurs shortly after falling asleep or waking up, and during an episode, a person feels awake and is aware of this loss of muscle control. The duration of a sleep paralysis episode can range from a few seconds to a few minutes

Hallucinations – during sleep paralysis fall into three categories:

  • Intruder hallucinations, which involve the perception of a dangerous person or presence in the room.
  • Chest pressure hallucinations, also called incubus hallucinations, that can incite a feeling of suffocation. These frequently occur along with intruder hallucinations.
  • Vestibular-motor (V-M) hallucinations, which can include feelings of movement (such as flying) or out-of-body sensations.

Escaping Sleep paralysis

  • Assure yourself that you are okay. Struggling will only increase the hallucinations.
  • Wiggle your toes or fingers

I've had it once, but long time ago. I always enjoy strange and unusual things, so I enjoyed it rather than disliked it.

Wtf I had that last night, it was horrible. I had a dream about some car alarms going off and then I couldn't move and my ears started ringing. I then woke up and didn't want to go back to sleep.

i have endured probably 50+ paralysises. waking up mid-sleep, getting out of bed for a few minutes then going back is a guarantee for me to have a paralysis
i have had brutal fucking ones that lasted 20+ minutes with hallucinations, like a shadow man standing in front of my bed and leaning towards me

only good side of it is i probably burn a lot of calories when it happens because i always wake up drenched in sweat feeling like i ran a marathon tbh jfl its brutal
closest experience to psychedelics without actually taking drugs

i had it after a multi day water fast. The night I broke the fast I ate a huuge meal (ur not suppose to do that) and was laying in bed on my side watching a movie on my laptop totally awake. Then i wanted to roll over to my other side i suddenly was paralyzed unable to move on my back in bed. A cloud of black just came through the wall to my left and hovered over me for maybe 5-8 seconds before disappearing through the wall to my right. During this entire thing I could not do anything but move my eyes, it felt like pressure on my chest and hard to breathe.

As soon as the cloud was gone through the wall to my right I could move and stumbled out of bed running out of the room. Crazy shit

The same thing happened to me AGAIn, exact same thing, same experience, same cloud 3 months later AGAIN after a multi day water fast

Had them all the time as a teenager. i remember trying to scream and move but couldn't do anything. in one episode, a shadow figure kept coming closer and closer until he grabbed my neck and stabbed my stomach. was so vivid

maybe its because ive had these all my life, still better than visual hallucinations. one time i did get a touch one, where i felt my palm was getting caressed, that one was freaky.
