The latter looks 10x better with dark brown or black hair, which is common on ethnics (assuming they already have light eyes, which is not common) but rare on white people.

Most people have an eye color below T07. Very dark, dark, or semi-light. Black/dark brown eyes, dark hazel eyes, hazel eyes, and light brown eyes.

If your eye color is between T07 and A40, it is technically light, but can look dark on certain.

If your eye color is above A40, it is always light and it is one of the first things people notice about you, especially if you have dark brown/black hair, or live in a non-white country, are non-white, or dark skinned/ethnic yourself. I know this, because I myself have legit A10+ eyes (under close lighting, they look almost crystal tier white), and have been commented on them my entire life, especially since I live in Mexico.

But obviously, they don't make me Chad. Like OP said, eye color is a halo, not a required feature.
