There is something about British people's nature that is attracted to trashiness. I can't explain it precisely, and I doubt anyone in the world can. British people have to try really really hard to be dignified, and this is the typical "class" perceptions of the UK. You have a lower class of brutish, loud, volatile people and and upper class trying it's very hardest to imitate the opposite of all of those things.

Look at the way they dress for a night out, for instace: Slutty dresses, skintight shirts that hug their roided biceps, extreme tans on both sexes. British makeup trends are infamous (search for "beef lips"). The ability to dress in a way that is subtle and not tryhard which acutally looks good, like the je ne sais quoi of the French, just eludes them. They like loud, obnoxious, attention-grabbing things instead. It's just part of who they are, despite the fact that many try very hard to hide it.
