I’m 18 and relatively skinny. From a young age I’ve never been able to put on mass no matter how much I ate. I’ve been consistently going to the gym for around 12 months but see small progress. I want to focus on building mass before continuing with the gym, as I never pursued the gym for a bodybuilding physique, only to put on size. My diet when I was going to the gym was full of protein. What should I do now to put on size? This winter I’m struggling to find time to go to the gym as I work 2x 8 hour jobs, so want to take this chance to put on mass before toning myself when I get more time. Do mass gainer shakes really work? I know it’s a case of eating more, and it sounds so simple, but what else can I do to help?

you don't need a mass gainer shake, what worked for me was slathering butter all over my rice and drinking a few cups of whole milk a day on top of my normal caloric intake. if you're really serious about this get a foood scale, start weighing ur food and step on the scale every morning until you start gaining, keep a log too. also dont be afraid to eat some junk food if you need to, when bulking i'll eat cookies and shit as im a hardgainer myself with 0 appetite.

Mass gainers are overpriced maltodextrins or oat powder with some protein isolate.
