But I've never seen someone get jaw surgery, for example, and looked worse off. Most people who are wanting jaw surgery probably need it.

I mean the vast majority of jaw surgeries are done for non cosmetic reasons. Most of the time it doesn't have a huge impact on the face even. Ofc people with normal jaws don't get surgeries as the surgeons will talk them out of it. Surgery isn't just magic. You can't fix something that's already fine

surgery is the only opportunity most people get for ascending from where they are right now, unless you're a little kid and noticed your flaws early - for example, i noticed my recessed chin early on as a kid and asked my mom to go to an orthodontist to ensure forward growth - other than that, it's all surgery. most soft maxxes aren't even noticeable enough improvements in fucking years
