there does not appear to be any metabolic or functional benefit to the source of the energy surplus, affording the practitioner an opportunity to adjust intake based on other variables such as existing energy density of the meal plan, eating occasions and distribution of energy, and macronutrient intake relative to training, plus potential for further increasing food intake.

You muh bulkers are not gaining guaranteed muscle over non-bulkers just due to stuffing yourselves more.

The study confirms there is no magical muscle building benefit just by adding 'X' number of calories to a person over another ALONE.

Only ADVANCED lifters likely benefit from heightened surplus in OCCASIONAL windows of training over YEARS, not STEADY and CONSTANT bulk ons/offs.

Not some amateur skinny fat turd larding himself to "increase energy" by puffing out JFL

you didn't read the study, jfl, gonna go ahead and debunk another DOGSHIT thread of yours :ROFLMAO:

study has faults - how are you going to methodically quantify key outcome measures like energy intake, energy expenditure, body composition? it creates inaccuracies. for example, when you change dietary carb intake to create a positive energy balance it can acutely increase metabolites within the muscle associated with water content which affects estimates of body comp. no matter what measurement technique you use. not to mention exercise-induced factors which influence water retention for up to 52 hours. your mother is a whore.

the study also clearly suggests that any adjustment in energy intake away from energy balance results in adaptive changes that complicate the interpretation of the study's findings.

no long-term data within the study either - all acute investigations and short-term interventions.

the response to resistance training and overeating in terms of hypertrophy varies between different people, obviously, no?
energy status, training history, age, and fitness level influence physiological response to hypertrophy stimuli.

the study literally mentions that the response to bulking or excess calories in the context of hypertrophy can vary among individuals based on their unique physiological characters, training history, and specific dietary factors which implies that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to bulk. retarded faggot. clearly it wasn't working for you because your brain cells are in overdrive writing all these shit threads, retarded faggot.

tl;dr shit thread, bulking isn't for everyone but it does work when you're consuming higher protein intakes with a caloric surplus.

Bro you're retarded af, the article you linked literally recommends to have a 350-500 calorie surplus.
practitioners are advised to start conservatively with an energy surplus within the range of ~1,500–2,000 kJ·day−1 and closely monitor response to the intervention, using changes in body composition and functional capacity to further personalize dietary interventions.
