I found a valid strategy online i back tested it on fxreplays and forward tested it too
I have been hopping strategy to strategy with not much luck. Found a couple but not as profitable as i wanted it to be so here is my current one:
Future trading on Micro or just e mini NASDAQ or S&P500
Go to 5 min Time frame. Wait for the full 5 min candle of 9:30 NY time (session open)
Measure it using ruler tool on trading view. range should be for
MNQ: 20<x<85
MES: 4<x<12
Avoid high impact news trading times (can be seen on forex factory)
Mark the highs and lows (even the wicks of the candle) of the first 5 min. Then wait for either side to be broken by a following candle as seen in the pic:
as you can see one candle closed out of the bottom. but the candle after closed back in range. NO CONFIRMATION
But then later we see that big green candle broke outof the range and closed AS WELL AS the candle after that that still closed out of the range. this is a confirmation of a continued up trend.
Then scale down to 1 min time frame and look for either fair value gaps or use the fibonacci OTE to find an entry to a long position as seen in this example.
1.5-2 RR normally but i stick to 1.5 to pass my eval propfirm i sometimes do 2 RR if i find a very clean setup
Feel free to ask any more questions and how to size it but rep me so i dont fuck up my rep
ost ratio
This works best with futures. Intially i traded MNQ which works quite well but i sometimes find it way safer to trades MES instead only because there is less wicking and false breakouts.
Vice versa for short positions.
Make sure you journal. Trade with 0.7-1 percent account size based if you are trying to pass an eval
STICK TO THE RULES. IF ONE OF THE RULES FAIL= DO NOT TRADE THAT DAY. For example i did NOT trade today because my 5 min candle was out of range point range and it was too big so i dodged a MASSIVE bullet because later on it did the opposite of what was planned.
@myosin @Jesus_ist_König idk if you r intereted in this
If you want here is a PDF version of this guide.
Its more detailed.
disclaimer: i AI generated it from claude and it has a bit of dodgy text due to some formatting issue and this is not my original strategy but from this reddit user called Imhim
