Hello everyone, I just did my fourth DIY session of Aqualyx in my bathroom. In total I have done three sessions on my cheeks and one for my double chin. In this thread I will give some tips and share my experience.
Ingredient List
First disinfect the vial and the area with alcohol wipes, a good rule of thumb is to use more wipes if they come back yellow after wiping the area because it means there is still bacteria and oils on your skin. When drawing the injection points, I recommend 0.1ml = 1cm. So if I am injecting 0.12ml per point I will space each point 1.2cm apart, this ensures a more even result. For the cheeks inject maximum of 4ml, and maximum of 5ml for double chin.
I usually draw enough for one injection point for each syringe without reusing. This just makes the actual process a lot smoother and sterilized because you do not have to think about how much liquid youre injecting while doing it, and instead just push the entire syringe dosage. Packs of syringes are also really cheap off Amazon anyway.
Injecting the Aqualyx
Tbh it is extremely hard to keep a perfect constent technique for every single injection point but just try to inject at a 90° angle. Do not move the needle when it is inserted and withdraw the needle at the same angle to minimize bleeding. Some people are worried about hitting a nerve or causing skin necrosis, this is extremely rare. I have injected into areas you are not really supposed to, like right under the zygomatic arch, right below the ear, or along the mandible and have never had any issues. However, to minimize any risk always pinch the skin and insert the full 8mm needle.
The full session including the preperation took me about 3-4 hours in my first few sessions although I am getting more efficient at it. I did not use any lidocaine, the pain is only bad (not unbearable) for the first or second session because I was mentally unprepared. However, by my third and fourth session I had gotten used to the feeling of deoxycholate acid and it wasnt an issue whatsoever.
Post Injection
The swelling is immediate and you will look like a chipmunk for a few days, but by day 5 it shouldnt be noticeable to anyone unless they are very attentive. Personally I just reserved 5 days where I knew I didnt have any responsibilities and stayed in my dorm room without going into public. Its best to not shower or drink alcohol for 24 hours after your session but if you really need to drink, wait at least 6.
