Hello everyone, I just did my fourth DIY session of Aqualyx in my bathroom. In total I have done three sessions on my cheeks and one for my double chin. In this thread I will give some tips and share my experience.

Ingredient List
  • 27g 8mm Needles from Amazon
  • Alcohol wipes from Amazon
  • Aqualyx (It's extremely easy to source online in the UK and I recommend buying a box to scan the code for authenticity)
  • Any pen to mark injection points
  • (Optional) Nitrile gloves from Amazon
Preperation
First disinfect the vial and the area with alcohol wipes, a good rule of thumb is to use more wipes if they come back yellow after wiping the area because it means there is still bacteria and oils on your skin. When drawing the injection points, I recommend 0.1ml = 1cm. So if I am injecting 0.12ml per point I will space each point 1.2cm apart, this ensures a more even result. For the cheeks inject maximum of 4ml, and maximum of 5ml for double chin.

I usually draw enough for one injection point for each syringe without reusing. This just makes the actual process a lot smoother and sterilized because you do not have to think about how much liquid youre injecting while doing it, and instead just push the entire syringe dosage. Packs of syringes are also really cheap off Amazon anyway.

Injecting the Aqualyx
Tbh it is extremely hard to keep a perfect constent technique for every single injection point but just try to inject at a 90° angle. Do not move the needle when it is inserted and withdraw the needle at the same angle to minimize bleeding. Some people are worried about hitting a nerve or causing skin necrosis, this is extremely rare. I have injected into areas you are not really supposed to, like right under the zygomatic arch, right below the ear, or along the mandible and have never had any issues. However, to minimize any risk always pinch the skin and insert the full 8mm needle.

The full session including the preperation took me about 3-4 hours in my first few sessions although I am getting more efficient at it. I did not use any lidocaine, the pain is only bad (not unbearable) for the first or second session because I was mentally unprepared. However, by my third and fourth session I had gotten used to the feeling of deoxycholate acid and it wasnt an issue whatsoever.

Post Injection
The swelling is immediate and you will look like a chipmunk for a few days, but by day 5 it shouldnt be noticeable to anyone unless they are very attentive. Personally I just reserved 5 days where I knew I didnt have any responsibilities and stayed in my dorm room without going into public. Its best to not shower or drink alcohol for 24 hours after your session but if you really need to drink, wait at least 6.

i got mine from wipole fillers but if you live in the UK there are tons of options online. the entire box (10 vials) was around £150, a pack of 20 syringes is like £8 from amazon

thats not expensive, 10 vials is like 10 sessions so £15 + syringes per session, you would be paying significantly more at any clinic for just one session.

idk if you can order from the us maybe customs might check? idk tho

Isn’t pinning 90 degrees for intramuscular stuff and 45 degrees for subcutaneous fat?

Isn’t pinning 90 degrees for intramuscular stuff and 45 degrees for subcutaneous fat?
i mean it really depends on the thickness of your subcutaneous fat but generally 90 degrees especially when youre pinching should target the middle of your subq layer also i think pinning too superficially and hitting your dermis is what causes skin necrosis. honestly though dont spike your cortisol over perfect technique theres no way you can pin perfectly for like 40 injection points especially if its your first time

8ml is technically enough for two sessions but I would highly recommend not reusing the vial and just ordering another vial because you dont want any risk of infection.

two sessions is enough to see minor results but how many sessions you need in total depends on how much fat you have on your cheeks and how much you want to get rid of.

Bc facial fat in the vast majority of areas is a primary age indicator. So it might look good now. But once your north of 25-30 your going to have aged yourself 5+ years.

Not really, because you're targeting the subcutaneous fat, the ones that really should worry about aging is the people who remove their whole BUCCAL fat, even then some people that have bones can still look good with it

How are the results looking? I Just did a First mild Session (1ml per cheek, already 10% bf). Was Kind of Hard to do but you really cant Hit anything dangerous with Short needle. Im only a Bit swollen and it didnt hurt Bad at all, just light burning for 60 minutes. Thinking about Doing another 2ml per cheek Next Week since I got a few weeks and want to get results fast
