Tales boyo. America is a horrible place in many ways and our government is oppressive af. Some euro places are even worse but that doesn't make this any good. Back in the 1950s to 1980s America would have been nice

Literally the ONLY good thing about modern America is that we can own guns. Other than that this place sucks in terms of being restrictive and cucked. America in the boomer days was one hell of a good era to be a man.

Easier to get jobs, much higher pay on average per cost of living, better dating market, more youthful society, more opportunities to do fun stuff like build fast cars and rip them around, less restrictive laws for fun stuff, better families in general, less social isolation, less chance of being incel, and the list goes on and on.

Easier to get jobs,
This only affects post uni job markets
This is a side effect of more people being granted education, which is a good thing for a society
If you found a degree in which you cannot get a job, that is your parent's fault for not doing research on the degree you told them you picked when you were 17/18, not your society's

much higher pay on average per cost of living,
Cost of living is higher when accounting for inflation
But poverty rate has halved since then, from 23% to 10-11%
More expensive rent and food but 2x less people live in squalor and are starving? Worthy trade

better dating market,
only thing you could actually argue
more youthful society,
due to lifespan being higher, therefore average age also being higher. You are turning a good thing [higher average lifespan] into a bad thing. Old people don't even leave the house so public places will look the exact same in terms of age diversity
more opportunities to do fun stuff like build fast cars and rip them around,
I forgot doing this turned illegal in -the make fun stuff illegal like build fast cars and rip them around act of 2004-

less restrictive laws for fun stuff,
like what
better families in general,
like what, there are less dysfunctional families now than back then due to mental health being treated more seriously
less social isolation,
tell that to anyone who had bad mental health back then
less chance of being incel,
same thing as dating market, only thing you can actually argue
and the list goes on and on.
not really

You know people always glaze Cuckmerica and while I acknowledge Iโ€™m heavily biased because I live there it really isnโ€™t some utopia, most of us are just wageslaves like everywhere else

Sure the potential and upward mobility is probably higher than most places but jfl as if the average joe off the street has the smarts capital business sense and luck to launch anything successful

CoL can be quite high and youโ€™re completely ball gagged by your employer for health insurance (and income obv)

Yes I would 1000x choose to live here over some 3rd world shithole, and prob even most if not all of Europe, but itโ€™s also all I know, and my entire life and reason to be is here

People who point out we have it so much better, well all I have to say is just because we have $4 compared to anotherโ€™s 3 cents doesnโ€™t mean shit when the price of admission to The Good Life (looks, health, freedom from decades of wage cuckery etc) is $5

The rich and attractive win as always

And even then itโ€™s not all itโ€™s cracked up to be. Pessimism pilled yet again

Always, getting my passport tomorrow to prep for muh Rome surgery trip :feelsez:

thatโ€™s because the quality of life is way better for people from third world shitholes even if they have a slave labor mindset. the โ€œamerican lifeโ€ doesnโ€™t mean shit unless youโ€™re in the secluded gated suburbs or start off from a high income to begin with. you're working longer hours than pretty much any developed country with barely any vacation or sick days. immigrants flood in chasing that dream but often times itโ€™s just surviving the rat race with no real upward mobility. the whole exceptionalism narrative is cope for the elite while the middle gets hollowed out.

I didn't say it was better in the 70s, but you're denying that there were many pros which is just delusional

Imo 2010s was a lot better in most western countries to live in, even just a few years had insane effects on housing costs and shitskin invasion numbers

times were different back then. the economy was actually expanding hard after the cold war, wages had more buying power, housing wasnโ€™t completely fucked by speculation and foreign investors, and immigration levels werenโ€™t flooding the labor market like today. you could show up with nothing, work your way up without competing against millions of new arrivals willing to live 10 to a house.
